Rotational Occupational Therapist
We are looking for a motivated Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team at CCICP and MCHT. The role will involve working with a wide range of client groups across rotations, including those with complex and/or multiple needs, and will require flexibility in hours and rotation locations.
Main Duties
* Provide assessment and treatment for acute, complex, long‑term, falls, orthopaedic, mobility, and neurological conditions.
* Participate in discharge planning and hospital admission avoidance.
* Collaborate with acute ward staff, outpatient staff, district nurses, advanced nurse practitioners, complex case practitioners, and MacMillan nurses.
* Perform associated administrative duties and maintain accurate clinical records using Microsoft Office; efficient keyboard skills required.
* Support digital technology for remote working and flexible schedules, including laptop and mobile phone access.
* Participate in urgent care response rota after gaining competencies, under the support of senior clinicians.
* Be a car driver with access to own vehicle.
Job responsibilities
Assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, and development of treatment plans for patients; work as an autonomous clinician under guidance of clinical specialists; use analytical and clinical reasoning skills to interpret findings and progress patients.
Person Specification
Experience
* Previous NHS experience either as a student or qualified.
* Broad range of clinical experience as a student in NHS settings.
* Knowledge of assessment tools and interventions.
Skills
* Evidence of effective communication.
* Ability to prioritise caseload.
* Full UK driver’s licence and access to a car for work purposes.
* Evidence of independent and team working.
* Ability to reflect on practise.
Knowledge
* Ability to assess a variety of clinical conditions.
* Ability to demonstrate appropriate documentation skills and maintain appropriate clinical records.
* Ability to manage own caseload.
* Ability to demonstrate good time management skills.
