Job Description
Wernick Hire, a leading modular buildings and site accommodation provider, is searching for a Depot Manager to supervise depot operations, uphold Health & Safety standards, and drive profitability. The role involves managing a dedicated team, ensuring seamless day‑to‑day depot performance, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
* Promote and expand Wernick Hire, sourcing new enquiries to grow the business.
* Respond promptly to all enquiries, ensuring customer satisfaction.
* Provide accurate, profitable costing for all enquiries.
* Conduct thorough site surveys and produce clear, accurate sketch drawings when needed.
* Coordinate and manage hire contracts from order receipt to handover, overseeing the hire period.
* Monitor work in progress and ensure timely completion of orders.
* Develop hire employees through effective training and mentorship.
* Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety policies and procedures.
* Take overall responsibility for the depot’s P&L, cost management, and profitability.
* Oversee yard and office staff, handle basic HR functions, and record sickness/absence in conjunction with the HR department.
* Maintain a thorough understanding of each job function within the depot.
* Be proficient in using the MCS RM/CRM system.
* Ensure awareness and compliance with the QMS system.
* Oversee asset management and accurate recording of assets.
* Attend and pass the IOSH course and participate in Team Academy leadership and sales training.
* Remain composed in a busy, high‑pressure office environment, making independent decisions.
* Plan workload effectively, multitask, and delegate tasks evenly among the depot team.
* Communicate at all levels and take ownership of issues, providing solutions or suggestions for resolution.
* Meet or exceed depot KPIs.
* Adhere to customer Service Level Agreements.
Qualifications & Experience
* Excellent leadership skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* Health and Safety awareness and implementation.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Depot Manager or Assistant Depot Manager experience, ideally in portable accommodation, modular buildings or plant hire.
* Knowledge of P&L and management of costs and budgets.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Experience managing depot operations and staff.
* Proficiency in MCS RM/CRM and QMS systems.
