Wayman Education is seeking an experienced or Early Career Science Teacher to join a prestigious Independent School in Cambridge starting in January on a full-time, permanent basis. This school combines academic excellence with a nurturing ethos, creating an exceptional environment for both teachers and students to grow. Applications are welcomed from specialists in any Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics), provided you have the passion and capability to teach Science up to KS4/KS5.
The Role
This is a superb opportunity for a reflective, ambitious Science Teacher who is ready to contribute to a thriving Science faculty. You will teach across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach your specialism to A-Level, depending on your experience and professional interests. The curriculum is rich, academically rigorous, and enhanced by a strong emphasis on enquiry, practical investigation and conceptual understanding. Teachers are encouraged to bring fresh perspectives, develop new units of learning, and design innovative practical tasks that extend students beyond the specification.
Science is taught in small classes, enabling personalised feedback, deeper questioning, and greater flexibility to stretch the most able students while supporting those who require more scaffolding. You will join a faculty of subject specialists who share resources, plan collaboratively and consistently strive for excellence.

The school is widely recognised for its high academic standards, excellent facilities, and its warm, community-centred ethos. Students are articulate, respectful and highly motivated, and behaviour across the school is exemplary.

Teachers are actively encouraged to lead or support clubs, such as STEM societies, science fairs, ecological research projects, or competitive science challenges. Visiting academics, partnerships with local universities and trips to scientific institutions add breadth and authenticity to the learning experience.
This is a setting where staff wellbeing is prioritised. You will be supported by a collaborative Senior Leadership Team, receive a generous CPD offer, and gain access to high-quality professional development courses tailored to your aspirations.
Experience & Qualifications
* A Science-related degree
* PGCE / QTS (Independent sector experience welcome but not required)
* A passion for high-quality teaching and learning
* Strong subject knowledge with the ability to inspire curiosity and confidence
