Location: Primarily you will be working out of the head office in Nottingham city centre and traveling to your respective sites across the UK. Pulse has offices located in Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham, London & Bristol.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
* Strong people management and leadership skills.
* Excellence in both Professional and Construction Services.
* Strong knowledge base including building control approvals and consultancy.
* Delivery of work outputs within set time frames and commercial goals.
* Commitment, enthusiasm and a strong work ethic.
* Team player capable of a flexible approach.
* Energetic & self-motivated.
* Strong IT capabilities including working experience of Microsoft Office and Tablet & Mobile data collection.
The scope of services delivered by the role-holder are flexible, dependent upon the client’s requirements covering both CDM and H&S management; and could include:
* Delivering CDM Consultancy for our varied clients to support them in delivering their duties – this could be as PD and/or CDMA or wider.
* Overseeing construction project / programme H&S – which could, for example, be as Site H&S Advisor or setting the project H&S Strategy, Policies and Processes.
* Carrying out H&S performance / management diagnostic ‘gap analysis’ reviews, audits, etc., for clients (e.g. of their own operations or their projects or their supplier activities).
* Developing Client H&S continual improvement programmes & overseeing their effective delivery.
* Establishing positive relations with existing clients to gain their confidence and become the focal point for communication.
* Representing Pulse Consult in a professional and diligent manner (both personally and technically) including meeting, negotiating and corresponding appropriately with clients’ management teams.
* Undertake duties as required in identifying and delivering new opportunities and business in the region.
* Liaise, proactively and professionally, with SHQ, and Pulse Consult, colleagues to contribute to team effectiveness, support others as needed and ensure consistency, quality and profitability of shared projects.
* Maintaining and developing personnel competence to meet the demands of both the business and clients.
Qualifications:
* NEBOSH certification or recognised equivalent
* Professional accreditation from the APS (AaPS, IMaPS) but ideally CMaPS
* CertIOSH (or TechIOSH - if actively working towards CertIOSH)
Person specification:
* A flexible individual who is able to understand the issues presented and adapt general methods and processes to meet the client’s / business needs.
* A motivated individual who asks questions, listens to and ‘hears’ answers, defines problems and uses initiative to implement solutions.
* A confident individual who is aware of their abilities and limitations.
* A clear-thinking person who demonstrates attention to detail, who is well organised, self-motivated and can operate independently under a broad direction.
* Team player with an ability to manage individuals and work collaboratively with colleagues.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
* Ability to effectively plan and organise own workload to meet deadlines with disciplined ability to work unsupervised.
* Good IT skills and competence in Microsoft Office suite to generate own reports and documents.
* Proven experience as a CDM Principal Designer.
* Experience of a diverse range of industry sectors desired but must have construction site H&S experience.
