Job Overview
Join us as an Apprentice Administrator and gain valuable experience while completing your apprenticeship with the Trust. Based in the Outpatient Booking Department, you will work closely with our Clinical Administration staff to provide support to Consultants and their teams. You will also work alongside the Waiting List Officers to help book patients for surgery and ensure that appointments are managed efficiently. In addition, you will assist with a variety of administrative tasks across the department, developing your skills in a supportive and professional environment while contributing to the smooth running of patient services.

Main duties of the job

* To provide administrative support to the department.
* To plan and organise own work schedule with the use of appropriate planning aids, demonstrating good time management.
* To obtain and organise information in support of own work activities, maintain confidentiality in accordance with organisation procedures.
* Answer queries from colleagues, in a timely and professional manner.
* To ensure that secure systems are in place for the storage of all resources including computerised information.
* To monitor inbox, promptly open incoming mail and distribute post to relevant personnel.
* Scanning and uploading relevant information into the Trust's electronic systems.
* Set up and maintain effective filing and retrieval systems.
* To develop and maintain effective working relationships with other staff in the department and the Trust, ensuring a professional and seamless service is provided.
* To adhere to Trust Values in promoting all aspects of care and standards.
* To ensure all phone calls are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.
* To operate various IT systems used to fulfil the role/department requirements.
* To undertake photocopying/scanning duties as required
