The Senior Project Manager will lead the planning, management and delivery of a complex portfolio of capital projects across the Trust’s estate, focusing on RAAC mitigation, statutory compliance, backlog maintenance and infrastructure resilience at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and other Trust sites. The role requires strong leadership, effective risk and financial management, and clear reporting to senior leaders and programme boards.

Responsibilities
* Lead multidisciplinary teams comprising internal staff, consultants and contractors to deliver projects from feasibility through to handover.
* Develop and manage business cases, procurement processes, construction programmes and final handover plans.
* Maintain robust governance and assurance, preparing and presenting high quality reports, risk registers and financial updates to programme boards and senior leadership.
* Actively manage risks and issues, escalating where required and ensuring mitigations are implemented effectively.
* Oversee contractor and consultant performance, administer contracts and ensure value for money while safeguarding safety and quality.
* Support the development of the Trust’s longer‑term estates and capital strategy, contributing to major investment business cases.
* Line‑manage and mentor junior staff, supporting capability building within the Capital Projects team.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.
* Relevant Master's qualification or equivalent experience at senior operational or strategic management level.
* Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM).
* Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Healthcare Project Manager.
* Experience of developing and delivering complex project plans and strategies, including programme management.
* Experience of managing mixed delivery teams, contractors, consultants and subject matter experts.
* Experience of estates‑related projects including backlog maintenance, RAAC, fire, ventilation and infrastructure compliance.
* Experience of budget management including forecasting, monitoring and control.
* Knowledge and experience of NHS procurement routes.
* Understanding of HTMs, HBNs, Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and NHS legislation.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* PRINCE2 Practitioner or APM qualification.
* Knowledge and practical application of Agile project delivery methodologies.
* Familiarity with specialised project management software (MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet).
