As a Support Worker, you will provide vital support to individuals in their homes or care facilities, helping them with daily activities and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. Key Responsibilities: Assisting with daily living: This includes helping with personal care (bathing, dressing), household tasks (cleaning, laundry), meal preparation, and budgeting. Promoting independence: Teaching life skills such as using public transport, managing finances, and participating in household duties. Health and wellbeing support: Helping individuals manage medical needs, such as administering medication and attending appointments with healthcare professionals. Social and emotional support: Providing emotional support to individuals and their families, and helping them connect with others and participate in community activities. Goal-oriented support: Working with individuals to set and achieve personal goals, whether short-term, like learning to cook a meal, or long-term, like attending college. Advocacy: Acting as an advocate for the individual, helping them express themselves and make their own choices. Requirements Prior experience as a Support Worker or in a similar healthcare role is preferred. Valid UK Driver's License Empathy and a genuine desire to help others. Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
