Are you a passionate and dynamic External Account Manager looking for your next permanent role?
We are currently seeking an experienced External Account Manager to join our Aggregates team, covering areas within the South East, including East Anglia, Cambridge, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and surrounding areas.
You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with external customers to manage price, volume, and profit for key accounts. Additionally, you'll aim to increase product volumes and profitability by expanding the infiltration of VAPs across the customer portfolio. Knowledge of aggregates would be highly beneficial.
Main Responsibilities
As an External Account Manager, you will be the primary link between Tarmac and our pivotal customer accounts, providing clear guidance to enhance customer experience and strengthen relationships.
Responsibilities (not exhaustive):
1. Manage a portfolio of external accounts to meet sales volume, price, and profitability targets.
2. Identify opportunities to improve cash flow through effective trading.
3. Provide market intelligence on product demand and customer interests to support strategic planning.
4. Lead initiatives on significant aggregate projects to maximize Tarmac's potential in securing contracts.
5. Collaborate with Customer Service and Shipping teams, appreciating each role's contribution to business success.
6. Prepare colleagues and teams for key account requirements, implementing service level agreements.
7. Regularly review accounts to find ways to improve offerings for mutual benefit.
8. Report monthly metrics and performance ratings to the Area Commercial Manager, identifying issues and solutions.
You will liaise with stakeholders across the business, including the Commercial Director, Managers, Site Teams, Customer Services, Accounts, Technical, and HR.
A company car is provided, so you must hold a FULL UK manual driving license with no more than 6 penalty points. Hybrid working options are available.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience managing and developing customer accounts.
* Commercial understanding of the sector.
* Ability to work cross-functionally to meet customer needs.
* Proficiency with commercial tools and forecasts.
Skills and knowledge required include:
* Understanding regional markets and the competitive landscape.
* High motivation and determination to succeed.
* Ability to identify customer needs and develop solutions with comprehensive product knowledge.
Flexibility in office location is available, but candidates should be within commuting distance of East Anglia, Cambridge, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, or surrounding areas.
