Job Description

Do you have an understanding and enthusiasm for health and safety related matters? We are looking for someone with a proactive approach, to work within our core engineering function, to support our high risk areas within Engineering with their health and safety related tasks.

Your role as Engineering High Risk Coordinator will be key in facilitating engineering managers to ensure compliance and to meet business demands and deadlines.

Whilst largely an administrative role, a strong interest and previous experience in Health and Safety is paramount, as we would expect you to maintain a working knowledge of relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) legislation, along with company HSE policies and procedures.

You’ll have the opportunity to interface with all levels of employees from various areas of the business, maintaining a professional, positive and proactive attitude and will be responsible for effective management of your workload.


What You’ll Do As Engineering High Risk Coordinator

* Ensure consistency of approach and best practices is adhered to across all of the high risk areas (Materials Laboratory, Structural Test Laboratory, Avionics, Flight Test)
* Responding to health and safety queries, and raising health and safety queries with the Responsible Manager, highlighting our deficiencies and then actioning them to address them
* Monthly inspections across all areas on behalf of the Responsible Manager
* Preparation of slides for communication of Health and Safety documentation
* Chair Monthly departmental Health and Safety meetings, circulating minutes, managing actions
* Support regular shop floor walkabouts, reporting any issues to the administration team
* Support incident investigation and risk management activities, as directed by the HSE Department
* Supporting annual audits and managing the actions required


What You’ll Bring

* A strong interest and previous experience in Health and Safety matters
* Audit experience
* Proficiency in Microsoft packages
* Previous Sphera experience

This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
