Position Details
The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Speech and Language Pathologist for Northside/Coulee Montessori Elementary School starting in the 2025-2026 school year. Projected start date: August 15, 2025. Full-time is preferred; part-time will be considered for successful candidates.
Salary/Wage: Per negotiated contract
Appointment Type: Full Time
Description: Wisconsin certification 1820 is required. School Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) work collaboratively with school staff, students, and families to support communication skills and enhance participation in academic and social settings.
Qualifications Required:
* Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university.
* Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction license 1820: Speech-Language Pathologist.
* Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with students aged 3-21 in a school setting.
* Knowledge of AAC devices and strategies.
* Strong collaboration, consultation, and team skills.
* Experience with diverse student populations and evidence-based interventions.
Essential Functions:

* Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and interpret findings for IEP teams.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEPs.
* Provide direct and consultative services, integrating strategies into classrooms.
* Collaborate with other professionals and provide training to staff and parents.
* Assess need for AAC devices, train students and staff, and participate in IEP meetings.
* Complete documentation in compliance with regulations.
* Engage in professional development and advocate for students' communication needs.
* Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in services.
* Maintain accurate records and adhere to ethical standards.
