We are seeking an experienced Asset Standards & Compliance Manager to ensure that all traction and rolling stock assets are maintained and operated by GB Railfreight in compliance with relevant technical legislation, regulation and direction. This role ensures that changes in the legal framework and standards catalogues are captured; ensuring that policies and procedures are updated and developed. This is in support of those assets that GBRf is the designated Entity in Charge of Maintenance on the National Vehicle Register; ensuring that certification supporting these activities are suitably maintained. The role has a focus on clear understanding of the Engineering Change process and in making key decisions ensuring that changes are captured and suitably verified to support Placing into Use. The role is also responsible for managing the implementation of the sub-contracted Rail Innovation & Development Centre (RIDC) Professional Head of Engineering duties and further encompasses ‘Authorised Signatory’ responsibilities associated with Vehicle Registration activities including Statement of Compatibility and Statement of Vehicle Registration. Closing date: 27th May 2024 Identification and review of updates to pertinent legislation, regulation and standards catalogues to identify continuous improvement opportunities for internal policies, standards, and instructions to maintain compliance. Review and comment on consultations of updates to pertinent legislation, regulation, and standards catalogues. Steer the Engineering Change process by identifying changes being carried out to GB Railfreight Traction & Rolling Stock, determining significance of the change and appropriate route of verification to support Placing into Service and Putting into Use activities. Engage with 3rd parties where appropriate, to support Putting into Use activities arising from Engineering Change. Represent GB Railfreight at pertinent industry committees and forums. ‘Authorised Signatory’ to maintain vehicle registration of GB Railfreight Entity in Charge of Maintenance Traction & Rolling Stock assets ensuring that the requirements of RIS-2453-RST and RIS-2706-RST are upheld. Account manages external suppliers of engineering consultancy and accredited certification services. Support the Head of Safety in the application for periodic Safety Management System documentation reviews and safety certificate applications. Update and set Maintenance Policy and supporting Maintenance Standards that sustain Entity in Charge of Maintenance certification. Authorise Statement of Compatibility documentation to support the requirements of RIS-8270-RST. Compilation and presentation of management reports and KPI’s relating to Asset Standards & Compliance. Essential Experience and knowledge of Traction & Rolling Stock legislation, regulation, and standards catalogues. Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office Applications. Strong interpersonal skills. Effective communicator and all levels. Previous Project Management and problem-solving experience. Experience of the Engineering Change assurance process Strong communication skills and effective relationship builder and manager Project management experience. Flexible and willing to travel, some travel will involve overnight stays.Clean UK driving licence. Desirable Experience within the railway industry. Chartered Engineer or aspiration and credible path to Chartered Engineer status. Incident and accident investigation experience.
