Join Our Team as a Residential Childcare Support Worker!

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people? Leeds LCS is on the lookout for committed and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our team! This is a fantastic opportunity to work full-time, with a flexible schedule that includes 35 hours per week plus sleep-in shifts.


Salary & Location

Basic Salary: £22,367.80, with the potential to earn up to £27,983.80 including sleep-in shifts.

Location: Leeds


Your Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping young people transition towards independence. Your responsibilities will include:

* Providing practical support and guidance in line with individual care plans.
* Engaging, motivating, and encouraging young people in their individual flats or shared houses.
* Maintaining positive relationships with young people, staff, and professionals through effective communication.
* Supporting young people in Education, Employment, and Training, ensuring they achieve their accredited learning qualifications.
* Building community links with educational provisions, sports centers, and youth clubs.


What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

* Flexibility: Availability for shift work, including sleep-in nights, evenings, and weekends.
* Qualifications: Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or a willingness to study towards this.
* Experience: Familiarity with attachment and trauma, as well as working with challenging behavior or mental health issues is desirable.
* Understanding: Insight into the challenges faced by young people in care.
* Transportation: A full driving license and access to a vehicle is preferred, but good public transport links are available.
* Computer Skills: Intermediate level proficiency.
