Job Summary

Our Sensory Impairment Team is recruiting for a full-time, permanent, Social Work Assistant based at Saltcoats Town Hall. The team is particularly interested in candidates with a qualification or experience in British Sign Language, but all applications meeting the essential criteria will be considered. As a Social Work Assistant, you will work with clients with sensory impairments in their own homes to promote safe and independent living. You will support sensory-impaired individuals across North Ayrshire, providing advice, practical support, assessing needs, and referring to other services. Your role will also involve supporting clients through the visual impairment registration process.
