GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school setting in Chesterfield. As a Secondary SEMH TA, you will support pupils aged 11–16 with SEMH challenges, working closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team. You will help to create a safe, inclusive learning environment and promote both academic progress and emotional development. Responsibilities as a Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant: Provide individual and group support to students with SEMH needs. Implement strategies to manage behaviour and encourage emotional regulation. Develop positive relationships to boost confidence, engagement, and resilience. Support classroom learning and monitor student progress. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals as needed. Requirements for Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant: Prior experience working with SEMH students in an educational or related setting is advantageous. Must hold a full UK driving licence with business insurance. Excellent communication, empathy, and behaviour management skills. A patient and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
