Some of the things you'll do in the role include:
Assisting with month-end financial reporting and accounting tasks
Responsible for the accurate recording of revenue and cost of sales, posting of month-end journals, Preparation of the monthly accounts for review
Training of new staff within the finance team, reviewing draft reports and Accounts Payable submissions, general processes, ensuring all payments go out on time and successfully, and there is adequate funding for all outgoing payments
Assisting in analysing company's financial performance and providing insightful commentary
Assisting in the preparation of reports for management and other stakeholders
Overseeing monthly Direct Debit collections and supporting the Accounts Receivable department on monthly billing, credit control and resident refunds
Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of the VAT accounts for all entities
Supporting the care homes with any finance related duties when instructed, working with business administration when required
Balance sheet reconciliations - own and manage selected general ledger reconciliations. Reconciling and understanding the numbers behind the results, and resolving reconciling items on a monthly basis. Highlight any risks or opportunities as they arise.Could you be part of our team?
About You:
Qualified or part qualified - ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification, or qualified by experience
Proven experience in a similar role, or a strong candidate making a first move from practice. - Including extensive experience in month-end processes, including demonstratable experience in management accounting and financial reporting
Excellent communication, interpersonal and self-management skills.
Have proficiency in using financial systems such as Xero or similar accounting software
A flexible, pro-active and willing approach and be comfortable working within a team.
An innovative and inquisitive mind to challenge and improve existing and new process and controls.
Are a self-starter with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
You'll be well organised, and able to prioritise work based on urgency.
Possess a strong understanding of financial and accounting principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
