About The Role
Harrogate College is recruiting for a Teacher of Health and Social Care to join our team. This role is maternity cover, offered on a fixed-term contract until February 2027. It is a part‑time position, working 29.6 hours over four days per week.

What You Will Do
* Join the team in teaching Health and Social Care at the college ensuring that all learners are fully supported to achieve their potential and progress onto further study or employment.
* Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
* Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
* Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.
* Maintain and update knowledge of the subject and / or vocational area.
About You
* Holds a Level 5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE).
* Relevant highest-level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject.
* Recent teaching delivery in relevant subject areas (PGCE teaching placements/experience would also qualify here) which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.
* Knowledge and experience in health and social care is essential, as is the ability to support all learners to successfully develop their skills and achieve whilst at Harrogate College.

Harrogate College has excellent facilities and provides a professional and friendly environment. We have recently been awarded £16m of government funding to transform our campus. The energy‑efficient new building will include a workshop unit that provides large‑scale facilities aligned to industry needs including advanced manufacturing, low‑carbon construction, retrofit, sustainable energy and bioeconomy, health science and hospitality. This will complement the college’s existing tech centre which is home to its motor vehicle, electrical, joinery and welding workshops.
