We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated staff nurses with a keen interest in caring for the critically ill and their families. You will be working within a supportive and dynamic critical care team with opportunities to gain a wide range of experiences. A full orientation program is available and ongoing education of staff is actively supported. The successful applicant will demonstrate a proactive approach to the care of the critically ill.
Critical Care Unit manages Intensive Care and High Dependency level patients. The beds are used flexibly to provide high quality patient care. Experience will be offered in all areas of Critical Care as part of a rotational programme and includes rotation on to nights.
Main duties of the job
The job description and responsibilities are to provide specialist nursing care for patients and their significant others within the Critical Care environment, in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct and Trust policies and procedures, to provide high standards of evidence-based patient centred care and to work with the team to maintain the efficient running of the Unit, while developing skills in this area.

The successful applicant will be offered an orientation programme from our dedicated practice educator, which will include competencies in critical care, equipment training and mentorship. The post holder will also be encouraged to expand their role within the limits of their Professional status and attend additional educational opportunities within the Department and Trust.
