Supply Early Years Practitioner – Grimsby
Location: Various nurseries and primary school EYFS settings across the Grimsby area
Contract: Flexible supply work – full-time or part-time
Pay Rate: £80–£100 per day (depending on experience, setting, and assignment)
About the Role
We are seeking caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Supply Early Years Practitioners to support nurseries and EYFS settings within primary schools across the Grimsby area. This role is ideal for practitioners who are passionate about early childhood development and value flexibility, variety, and nurturing children in their early learning journeys.
Working on a supply basis offers a range of short-term, long-term, full-day, and part-day assignments, allowing you to choose work that fits around your availability and commitments.
What You’ll Be Doing
EYFS & Classroom Support
* Supporting children aged 0–5 years within nursery and reception settings
* Assisting with the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
* Supporting play-based, child-led, and adult-guided learning activities
* Helping to prepare engaging learning environments and resources
* Ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive setting
One-to-One & Additional Needs Support
* Providing individual support for children with additional needs (including SEND)
* Encouraging early communication, social interaction, and independence
* Supporting early literacy, numeracy, and personal development
* Working closely with teachers, room leaders, and SENCOs
Care, Wellbeing & Behaviour Support
* Supporting children’s emotional development, wellbeing, and self-regulation
* Promoting positive behaviour through consistent routines and clear expectations
* Assisting with personal care routines, where required, in line with setting policies
* Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and welfare
Flexibility & Adaptability
* Working across different EYFS environments (nurseries, preschool, reception)
* Adapting to different routines, environments, and team structures
* Being available for pre-booked work or same-day supply shifts
* Communicating effectively with setting staff and your Reed consultant
To Thrive in This Role, You Will:
* Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (preferred, but not essential for all roles)
* Be nurturing, patient, and passionate about early years education
* Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
* Be reliable, professional, and punctual
* Have a good understanding of EYFS principles and safeguarding
* Have experience working within early years settings (preferred but not essential)
* Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
