As our Rooftop Head Chef in Glasgow, you'll lead our kitchen team to create exceptional dining experiences. You will oversee menu creation, food preparation, staff management, and ensure smooth service. Working closely with the Rooftop General Manager, you'll focus on quality, creativity, and operational excellence while meeting business goals.
About Us
Known for being rule breakers in hospitality, TSH offers a fun, creative, and inspiring environment where everyone can work, stay, learn, and play, and most importantly – be themselves. We operate like a hotel but offer more: student accommodation, long and short stays, gyms, talks, events, rooftop bar and eat & drink spots, community and coworking spaces. Based in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, and Spain, with new openings planned, our hybrid hospitality concept aims to go global.
Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership: Recruit, onboard, train, and lead your kitchen staff, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment with regular coaching.
2. Menu Development: Create seasonal menus featuring vibrant Mexican cuisine options that reflect our brand, sustainability commitments, and guest expectations.
3. Kitchen Operations: Oversee food prep and service, maintaining quality and food safety standards.
4. Financial Management: Control costs, manage inventory, minimize waste, and build supplier relationships to optimize financial performance without compromising quality.
5. Guest Experience: Ensure excellent dishes and use customer feedback to improve offerings.
6. Collaboration: Support broader food and beverage strategies with the Group Executive Chef and other departments.
Candidate Profile
1. Minimum 3 years as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-paced, high-quality kitchen (rooftop or destination restaurant preferred).
2. Proven ability to build, train, and manage a high-performing team.
3. Strong background in kitchen systems, inventory control, and workflow management.
4. Experience implementing new processes to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
5. Passion for using fresh, seasonal ingredients and developing innovative menus; experience with Mexican cuisine is a plus.
6. Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and optimize financial performance without sacrificing quality.
7. Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
