We're now looking for a SHEQ Manager to make sure our projects and people stay safe, compliant and built to last.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Land, you'll work closely with teams across development, construction and legal to make sure every Apatura project is delivered safely and to the highest standard.
Your focus will span our core portfolio of renewable energy storage, grid infrastructure and essential data centre projects, ensuring each one meets our SHEQ commitments and supports long-term sustainability.
This is a visible role with influence across the business. You'll advise on risk and oversee compliance, building strong relationships with contractors and regulators. Above all, you'll help us deliver projects that meet every standard we set for ourselves (and then raise the bar again).
What you’ll be doing
* Managing Apatura's SHEQ framework in line with relevant ISO standards and best practice.
* Supporting project teams through development, construction and delivery.
* Overseeing compliance with CDM Regulations and coordination with designers and contractors.
* Tracking performance, identifying issues early and driving improvements.
* Leading investigations and sharing lessons learned.
* Working with regulators, industry bodies and other external partners.
* Delivering internal training and awareness sessions.
* Embedding SHEQ standards in procurement and contractor management.
* Promoting sustainability and ESG goals across the company.
* Conducting audits, monitoring indicators and preparing monthly reports.
What we’re looking for
* At least 5 years' experience in a SHEQ or HSEQ role within renewables, utilities or major infrastructure.
* Strong knowledge of UK HSE law, CDM Regulations and Scottish environmental frameworks.
* Skilled in implementing ISO-certified management systems.
* Clear, confident communicator who can influence across teams.
* Pragmatic and proactive with a focus on improvement.
* Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) in Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Sustainability, Engineering or Construction.
* Chartered or professional membership (or working toward it) with a recognised body.
