About the Role
We are looking for a Deputy Editor to help shape the future of Cell Reports Medicine. You will support the Editor-in-Chief, manage a team of editors, and contribute to journal strategy. You will also engage with the scientific community, oversee peer review, and help develop editorial content. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in any area related to the topics that Cell Reports Medicine covers, with MDs with extensive research experience also considered. Candidates should have extensive editorial experience, strong communication skills, with an interest in managing a team, engaging with the scientific community, and the ability to work well in diverse team settings.

Responsibilities
Supporting the Editor-in-Chief and manage editorial staff
Contributing to journal strategy and development
Overseeing peer review and editorial decisions
Commissioning and editing Reviews and Perspectives
Building relationships with researchers and institutions
Representing the journal at conferences and events
Improving editorial workflows and author experience
Requirements
PhD or MD in a relevant biomedical or clinical field
At least 4 years of editorial experience
Experience managing or mentoring others is a plus
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to evaluate a wide range of scientific topics
Interest in science communication and publishing trends
Comfortable working independently and in diverse teams
