Overview
As part of the Spectris Business System (SBS) Team, you will collaborate with operational and leadership teams, as well as functional representatives, to lead the deployment of the Lean Operating Model (LOM) and high-impact projects that align with the SBS strategy and support the delivery of business goals. You will provide technical expertise in SBS methods and tools, drive the deployment of SBS at a site or regional level to enhance productivity and efficiency, and spearhead cross-functional improvement or strategic projects that deliver measurable benefits by reducing waste or defects in complex products or processes. Additionally, you will coordinate SBS training, activities, and projects, including delivering accredited SBS portfolio training and coaching. A key aspect of the role is Lean deployment, to coach, mentor, and effectively communicate with SBS Specialists, Practitioners, Method Experts, Champions, business leaders, and stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
* Deploy Lean initiatives across the site
* Create a Lean Kaizen funnel of opportunities, working with the relevant departments to clarify the financial benefits and then deploy the projects, managing set KPIs to ensure that they deliver on time and in full
* Manage the site Lean Operating Model (LOM) deployment and improvement priorities to SBS standards, ensuring alignment with maturity criteria and certification goals
* Apply SBS learning resources and standards to deliver training, implement methods, and leverage best practices supported by SBS Group
* Provide coaching and guidance to enable team maturity progression, while addressing significant deployment gaps or issues
* Facilitate SBS communication and change management to help site leadership sustain the SBS culture and recognize achievements
* Conduct training and learning activities to develop employee knowledge and skills in SBS methodologies, ensuring consistency and knowledge sharing
* Collect lessons learned, benchmark improvements, and collaborate with the Director of Business Excellence to identify and discuss new opportunities
What You’ll Bring
* Proven ownership and deployment of lean in a manufacturing environment
* Proven experience leading Lean/CI improvement teams (3–5 years+) and deploying Lean transformations, with expertise in A3PS, Value Stream Mapping, Daily Management, Kaizen Systems, Safety Programs, 5S, Lean Leadership, and Standard Work
* 10+ years of operations and change management
* Experience of delivery of a business model of Lean culture change and sustainability
* Strong background in project and program management, including teaching and applying Lean and Six Sigma tools across multiple industries, sectors, and functions
* Expert-level training and certification in Lean/Six Sigma/CI methods
* Excellent training, facilitation, and people management skills, with the ability to lead, inspire, and motivate multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams
* Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a track record of planning and executing projects to achieve key performance metrics in safety, delivery, quality, productivity, and culture
* Effective influencing, coaching, and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels, from shop-floor team members to senior managers
* Hands-on, customer-focused approach with a structured and logical mindset, capable of constructively challenging processes to deliver results and add value
