About the Service
Commercial Services - Infrastructure is responsible for the procurement and contract management of various contracts across the Council, mainly working with colleagues in our Place and Resources directorates.
Our Senior Commercial and Procurement Officers oversee and undertake commercial activities related to procurements and contracts on behalf of the Council. They also provide commercial advice and support on a range of other projects.
You will report to the Commercial and Procurement Manager for Resources within the Commercial Infrastructure team. This role is for a 12-month fixed term to cover maternity leave. Although offered as a fixed-term contract, your involvement in strategic projects will provide excellent opportunities for skill development and future career advancement. Applications are welcomed on a secondment basis as well as full applications.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Experience in a commercial role involving deals, risk mitigation, and efficiency improvements.
2. Experience with public procurement, including relevant laws, regulations, and negotiations.
3. Experience leading, supporting, and managing relationships across multiple projects.
4. Ability to prioritize demanding tasks and meet deadlines.
5. Capability to work independently and as part of a team, remaining calm under pressure.
6. Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills at all levels.
