Clarke Energy is seeking an Overhaul & Repair Operations Manager to lead and continually improve our overhaul, repair and remanufacturing activities. This is a senior operational role, responsible for ensuring all workshop and field-based overhaul operations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.
You will play a pivotal part in maintaining the reliability of our engine fleet, driving operational performance, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
Job Purpose
To lead and manage all overhaul and repair activities – including full engine overhauls, field‑based repairs and the remanufacture of components – maximising utilisation, quality, profitability and customer satisfaction. The majority of your time will be spent managing overhaul workflows, coordinating resources, driving process improvements and ensuring work is delivered in line with Clarke Energy and OEM standards.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Operational leadership of overhaul and repair activities
* Overhaul, repair and remanufacturing tasks are planned, executed and quality assured effectively.
* Labour, tooling, equipment and facilities are optimally utilised.
* Workflows are properly scheduled and coordinated to meet customer and contractual expectations.
* All activities comply with Clarke Energy codes of practice, internal processes and OEM technical standards.
Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence
* Lead initiatives to improve productivity, workflow efficiency and component quality.
* Champion best practice in overhaul methodology, remanufacturing processes and workshop standards.
* Ensure adherence to quality assurance procedures and lead corrective action where required.
Health, Safety and Environmental performance
* Ensure all teams operate safely and follow company and statutory requirements.
* Conduct audits and inspections to maintain safe working practices across workshop and field activities.
Customer and stakeholder collaboration
* Maintain strong customer relationships by ensuring clear communication and high‑quality service delivery.
* Act as the escalation point for commercial queries, liaising with Product Support on technical matters.
* Work closely with internal teams across Service, Parts, Field Service, Scheduling and QUENSH to ensure seamless project delivery.
Leadership, reporting and performance management
* Lead, motivate and develop workshop technicians and field‑based engineers.
* Produce status updates, utilisation reports and operational KPI analysis.
* Flag operational issues promptly to the Service Operations Director.

Essential
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Strong technical background in engine overhaul, repair or heavy mechanical engineering.
* Experience managing workshop or field service operations.
* Understanding of remanufacturing processes and engineering best practice.
* Ability to interpret technical documentation and OEM specifications.
* Strong analytical capability (operational and financial data).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance/ERP systems.
Desirable
* Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering or related discipline.
* Experience with gas engines or large reciprocating machinery.
* Experience in component remanufacturing or machining environments.
* Knowledge of Lean, 5S or similar improvement methodologies.
