You’ll Be Responsible For
* Coordination of work with other contractors and Network Rail.
* Liaison with route engineers (discipline).
* Participating in all engineering and development assurance activities to ensure schemes are affordable, meet program requirements, and are safe and environmentally responsible regarding time, cost, and quality.
* Engaging in the engineering assurance process considering safety, reliability, maintainability, ease of construction, and environmental/whole life issues, supported by reviewing compliance with standards (e.g., NR/L2/CIV/003, NR/L3/CIV/0063).
* Using risk assessment methods (e.g., HAZOP, QRA) to evaluate options.
* Developing and assuring the selected engineering solutions and full assurance packages for detailed design.
* Carrying out engineering verifications.
* Managing engineering interfaces with other disciplines.
* Acting as or liaising with project engineers to produce and approve method statements for site works and surveys.
* Ensuring contractors’ design, construction, and specialist personnel are competent (e.g., CEM/CRE appointments).
You’ll Need To Have
* Preferably a chartered engineer (preferably IStructE) with a relevant engineering degree (BSc/BEng or equivalent) and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
* Ability to undertake the NR/L2/RSE/02009 Project Engineer role.
* Understanding of CDM 2015 and CSM 2013 regulations, especially regarding asset protection on various projects.
* Knowledge of Network Rail's risk assessment processes, including CSM-RA.
