Responsibilities
* Provide employment law services in a client-facing role as part of the Employment Law Team.
* Work on a variety of work focusing on workforce and pay compliance, workforce change, and HR/ER advisory work, including cross-border/global employment projects.
* Assist with development of junior team members and contribute to growth of the team.
* Build and develop relationships within the KPMG network and with external clients.
* Be a team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
* Proactively manage matters and drive them forward, with consideration of risk and profitability.
Experience and qualifications
* Majority of career in a reputable Employment practice; other suitable experience will be considered.
* Confident client-facing employment lawyer with strong technical, supervision and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to proactively manage matters and drive them forward.
* Experience handling complex and high-value matters; key contact for a number of large clients.
* Some experience supervising junior team members and demonstrated business development skills (cross-selling and winning work).
* Experience presenting to clients, training colleagues, and leading pitches and proposals.
* Good understanding of profitability and risk in handling work.
* Experience advising alongside other professionals (such as tax or immigration advisers) and leading cross-border employment workstreams would be valuable.
* Ideally, experience advising on (or willingness to upskill in) the employment law aspects of:
*
o Change projects – Redundancy – TUPE – Changing Ts and Cs
o Gender pay gap projects and equal pay audits
o National minimum wage
o Employment status reviews
o Intra-group transfers of employees including international assignments
o Investigations/ER advisory
* Experience of project management and coordination of multi-jurisdictional projects is valuable.
