JOB PURPOSE (Role Definition):
Working within a team of electronics engineers, the successful candidate will be involved in the full product lifecycle of state-of-the-art medical devices. The primary role will be in the design and development of electronic sub-systems within these devices. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of electronics, and the electronics design process, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other engineers, often in other teams. They will be capable of taking designs from concept through to manufacturing, whilst demonstrating compliance with applicable standards and requirements. Capabilities in design, development, analysis, test, product requirements capture and change control are all expected.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Development of electronic sub-systems for new products, ensuring requirements are met, deliverables are completed on time and quality is maintained
* Creation of project deliverables, including schematics, PCB design files, BOMs, drawings and documentation.
* Always working within the boundaries of appropriate medical standards and regulations.
* Creation of prototype designs and test equipment.
* Development and completion of commissioning and validation tests on sub-systems.
* Provide technical support to the production team for PCB manufacturer queries and component changes (obsolescence, stock issues and alternatives). Validation of associated changes made.
* Provide technical support to the production team for technical investigations.
* Creation and maintenance of test equipment.
* Work with systems, mechanical, software and production engineers to support development activities.
* Research new technologies for use in development of state-of-the-art products.
* Work with project stakeholders to develop requirements for system and sub-system level.
* Communicate with third party manufacturers and in house staff to ensure delivery of project tasks.
