Overview
Oxfordshire Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Abingdon Community Hospital is delighted to offer the opportunity for a full time Band 6 Occupational Therapist (OT) within our service. If you are passionate about working in an adult inpatient physical rehabilitation setting, and an award winning team, where our goal is to enhance our patient's quality of life and health and facilitate their safe discharge from hospital, then we are the team for you.
We would love to hear from any experienced Occupational Therapists who have the compassion, skills and knowledge to help us assess our patients and deliver person centred interventions which impact daily activities and functioning and improve health and well being and return to independence. We are a supportive, well-established, and knowledgeable community hospital multi-disciplinary team. You will receive quality individual, safeguarding and reflective practice supervision. We are a progressive service keen to look forward and find ways to develop and improve the service.
Responsibilities
* Conduct specific physical and cognitive/functional assessments and deliver interventions to support rehabilitation.
* Communicate effectively within the MDT and with families, as well as externally to key organisations such as social care and specialist services.
* Prescribe equipment and assess home environments as appropriate.
* Represent and lead the service at family meetings.
* Be aware of the protocols and procedures in place to ensure clinical governance and adherence to standards.
Qualifications and requirements
The post holder should be able to work as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in an adult inpatient physical rehabilitation setting, with experience in conducting physical and cognitive/functional assessments and delivering interventions to support rehabilitation. The role requires effective communication within the MDT and with families and external organisations, and the ability to work with equipment prescription and home environment assessment.
