A leading investment bank is seeking an Associate to join its London-based deal team. The group advises corporates, founders, and financial sponsors on high-stakes strategic transactions across M&A, capital raising, and complex financings, partnering closely with senior clients to deliver high-quality execution in fast-moving situations.
This is an opportunity to join a lean, high-performing platform where Associates play a central role in execution—owning key analytical workstreams, driving materials production, and operating as the day-to-day engine room of live transactions alongside VPs and senior bankers.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a commercially sharp, analytically rigorous Investment Banking Associate who can run core execution workstreams across live deals—from initial diligence through marketing materials and closing—while also supporting client coverage and pitch work.
The role is well suited for candidates who combine strong technical skills with high standards, enjoy working directly with senior bankers, and can operate at pace across multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Support execution across M&A and capital markets transactions, helping manage timelines, workstreams, and deliverables from kickoff through closing
Build and own core analytical outputs: valuation (trading comps, transaction comps, DCF/LBO as applicable), operating models, scenario/sensitivity analysis, and financing implications
Drive production of high-impact materials: teasers, CIMs, management presentations, board decks, fairness/valuation support, and lender/investor materials
Coordinate diligence workstreams across commercial, financial, legal, tax, and technical advisors; synthesize findings into clear messaging and internal decision support
Manage and mentor Analysts day-to-day: task allocation, guidance on modeling/materials, and first-line QC to ensure output is accurate and client-ready
Support senior bankers in client coverage and origination: pitch decks, idea generation, market/sector updates, and maintaining sponsor/corporate relationship tracking
Participate in client and counterparty interactions on execution topics, preparing briefs, follow-ups, and supporting calls/meetings under tight timelines
What We're Looking For
Typically 3–6+ years of relevant experience in investment banking (M&A, LevFin, DCM/ECM, or sector coverage), with meaningful London deal execution exposure
Strong technical foundation: valuation, accounting, financial modeling, transaction mechanics, and ability to pressure-test business plans and diligence outputs
Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams in parallel with tight deadlines and high QC standards
Excellent communication skills—able to produce tight, client-ready materials and present analysis clearly to internal stakeholders and clients
High ownership mindset and strong attention to detail; thrives in lean teams with direct accountability and fast feedback loops
Bachelor's degree required; MBA helpful but not required
Why Join
High-impact seat in a London investment banking platform with real execution ownership and client exposure
Broad remit across analysis, materials production, diligence coordination, and junior team leadership
Steep learning curve with direct access to senior bankers and high-caliber clients
Competitive compensation with performance-linked upside
Clear pathway for progression within the deal team
