This position if for an upland/mountain path builder. No experience is necessary, but you should be physically very fit, have a good basic level of strength, be able to work outdoors all day, in all conditions and thoughout the year in the mountains. You will spend a considerable amount of time tired,wet and cold, You will be living and working as a team for extended periods of time, usually on a 8 on, 6 off rota, so must be personable and able to work well with others. Accommodation and food is provided, including breakfast, packed lunch for the hill and a main communal meal at night. All of the work is done by hand, using shovels, mattocks, pinch bars, sledgehammers, winches and smaller handtools. All training will be provided, and most of this will take place on the job. Driving license and access to a vehicle is essential as the work takes place in remote areas thoughout Scotland. If your application is successful you will be required to attend an extended interview process for a min of 3 days at a location where we are working. At the moment this would be on An Teallach, near Dundonnell. This is so you can get a taste of what we do and experience the conditions you would be required to work in, and for us to see you, find out if you have what is required and see if you would fit into the team.
