Quality Inspector
Location:- Gillingham
Salary: £26,500 – £35,000PA, Dependent on experience.
Hours: 07:00 - 17:00 M-T / 08:00 - 15:30 F
A company who is ISO (Apply online only) accredited global leader in the performance automotive drivetrain industry, supplying motorsport users, volume OEM and commercial customers with a wide variety of precision engineered products for cars, motorcycles and specialist use vehicles and now looking to recruit a Quality Inspector to join their team.
Quality Inspector – Job Role:
As the Quality Inspector your main duties will be to ensure that our Quality Management Systems are adhered to and that all products produced are correct to drawing. The role will also include:
• Ensuring all measuring equipment is regularly calibrated, as per the company’s calibration schedule, and kept in a good working order and if not, bring this to the attention of your line manager for discussion.
• Take responsibility for all first off checks on machined components.
• To patrol inspect, ensuring that the machine operators are correctly checking the critical dimensions with the right equipment.
• Tutor junior members of staff on the correct handling and reading of inspection equipment such as micrometres and Vernier calliper gauges.
• Take responsibility for final inspection on all parts before they are booked into stock or despatched to customers / suppliers.
Working within the Quality Department, you will be expected to:
• Log and collate Quality related data, such as customer rejections, internal rejection, and scrap.
• Log, collate and create regular reports for Quality related data.
• Assist in fault finding non-conforming parts and to suggest and discuss preventative actions with the applicable departments to prevent re occurrences of issues.
Quality Inspector – Job requirements:
Experience in operating CMM’s is vital along with an engineering background. Knowledge of Mitutoyo Geopak software would be a distinct advantage, but training would be given to the successful candidate. However we will also consider a trainee for this position. A trainee applicant would need to have spent time in an engineering environment using standard measuring equipment and able to read and understand an engineering drawing.
