Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Static Electrician to join our facilities management team, based permanently at a large commercial property in Fareham. In this role you will be the on‑site expert for all electrical maintenance, ensuring the building’s electrical systems are safe, compliant and fully operational. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician who enjoys working in a stable, professional environment and taking ownership of their work.
Responsibilities
* Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all electrical systems, including lighting, power, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.
* Respond promptly to reactive maintenance and electrical faults, diagnosing issues and carrying out effective repairs.
* Perform minor electrical installations and project work as required.
* Carry out fixed wire testing and inspections (if qualified) and complete necessary remedial works.
* Ensure all work is completed in line with current health and safety standards and BS 7671 (18th Edition) regulations.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance tasks, reports and compliance documentation.
* Work collaboratively with the wider on‑site maintenance team to ensure seamless service delivery.
Qualifications
Essential
* Fully qualified electrician (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent).
* 18th Edition (BS 7671) certification.
* Proven experience in a commercial or building services maintenance environment.
* Strong understanding of PPM schedules and reactive maintenance.
* Excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
* Professional attitude with good communication skills.
Desirable (but Not Essential)
* City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) for Inspection and Testing.
* Experience with building management systems (BMS).
* Valid ECS card.
