Salary - £35,000 - £45,000
Our client, based between Welshpool and Oswestry has a vacancy for a Payroll Lead on a permanent basis. This is a key role responsible for delivering a first-class payroll and benefits function to the business, ensuring the business continues to support and reward their colleagues effectively as they enhance their people strategy and drive operational excellence.
Duties will include:
1. Acting as the technical expert for payroll and benefits, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies across all business units.
2. Taking ownership of complex and high-risk payroll items (e.g., terminations, back pay, pensions tax, benefits-in-kind) with accuracy and compliance.
3. Researching and implementing a benefits structure aligned with current and future business needs.
4. Supporting insurance, private medical, and pensions renewals and strategy.
5. Ensuring ongoing compliance with HMRC, Auto-Enrolment, IR35, Gender Pay, National Minimum Wage, and GDPR.
6. Providing expert payroll guidance, reviewing submissions, and upholding quality control across monthly cycles.
