Job Title: Working Foreman (Carpentry Background) – Career Path to Project Manager
Location: Oxfordshire / Berkshire
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + Package (Depending on experience)
The Opportunity
I’m looking for a skilled Working Foreman for a premier contractor in Oxfordshire/Berkshire. This isn't your standard site role; my client specialises in high-spec, bespoke refurbishments for High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) on projects up to £5m.
This is a unique "hybrid" role for someone who is still a master of their craft but wants to step into management. As the company grows, this role is designed to evolve into a full-time Project Manager position.
The Role
You’ll be the heartbeat of the site, split roughly 60% on the tools and 40% site management. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the "white-glove" standards my client is known for while keeping the project moving.
Key Responsibilities:
*
On the Tools: High-end second fix carpentry and ensuring a flawless finish.
*
Management: Coordinating subcontractors, health & safety, and site logistics.
*
Progression: Working closely with the current PMs to learn the ropes of programming and client management.
*
Quality Control: Ensuring every detail meets the exacting standards of our HNWI clients.
The Essentials
*
Trade Background: You must be a Carpenter by trade with a deep understanding of high-end residential work.
*
Experience: Proven track record on luxury refurbs or period property remodels.
*
Mindset: You’re ready to step up. You’re organized, professional, and comfortable being the face of the firm on-site.
*
Standards: An obsession with detail—you understand that "good enough" isn't an option on a £5m refurb.
What’s on Offer?
*
Salary: £45k–£55k + Van + Package.
*
Career Path: A clear, documented route to becoming a Project Manager.
*
Projects: Work on some of the most prestigious private estates in the region.
*
Culture: A professional, supportive team that values quality over volume.
How to Apply
If you’re a top-tier Carpenter looking to put down the tools over the next couple of years and move into management, I want to hear from you
