Assistant Medical Secretary / Administrator – Gastroenterology Department, York Hospital
A Vacancy at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible individual to provide support to the Medical Secretaries and their Consultant Teams as a proficient audio typist in the Gastroenterology Department.
Responsibilities
* Transcribe complex audio tapes and digital dictation, including complicated medical terminology.
* Handle queries from patients, consultants and GPs and use electronic work lists to monitor patient pathways.
* Perform a range of general administrative tasks and manage time and workload efficiently.
* Work unsupervised and communicate regularly with consultants.
* Prioritise the demands of a busy office and work well under pressure.
Qualifications
* GCSE English Language grade C or above (or equivalent).
* Relevant typing qualification of RSA II standard (or demonstrable keyboard skills).
* Previous clerical/administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
