Assistant Psychologist – Fixed Term (23 months)
Hours: 27 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
Location: Rohallion Clinic, Murray Royal Hospital, Perth
We are seeking an Assistant Psychologist to join our Psychology to Forensic Mental Health Service based at Rohallion Clinic. Our psychology team includes Clinical and Forensic Psychologists, CBT Therapists, and an Assistant Psychologist post, working within NHS Tayside and the North of Scotland Regional Mentally Disordered Offenders Service.
The service delivers psychological input across a regional medium secure forensic mental health service comprising three wards with a total of 32 male beds, serving Health Boards across the North of Scotland (Grampian, Highland, Orkney, Shetland, and Tayside, excluding the Western Isles). We also provide psychological input to NHS Tayside’s low secure forensic mental health service (24 beds) and the forensic community mental health service.
The post‑holder will work under the supervision of Consultant/Clinical Psychologists and will be involved in:
Contributing to psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention.
Co‑facilitating group interventions
Supporting clinically related administration.
Assisting with research, clinical audit, and service evaluation.
Participating in regular clinical and management supervision provided by a Consultant/Clinical Psychologist.
You must achieve the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland. You must comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers throughout your employment.
