A distinguished global defense organisation is seeking a Senior Buyer (Indirects) to join their team in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. This permanent role offers a salary of up to £55,000, along with a flexible 4-day workweek and hybrid working arrangements.
Ideal candidates will possess solid experience in purchasing or procurement, with a proven track record in sourcing and managing indirect categories.
Role Responsibilities Of The Senior Buyer Include
* Managing end-to-end procurement processes, including RFQs, tenders, negotiations, bid evaluations, and contract awards.
* Holding procurement delegation to sign supplier agreements and purchase orders within authorised limits.
* Negotiating with suppliers to secure the best value and managing supplier performance to meet technical, schedule, quality, and cost standards.
* Developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate mutual benefits and ensure effective communication.
* Ensuring procurement activities comply with internal and legislative procedures, managing risks, and supporting continuous improvement of supply chain processes.
Person Specification Of The Senior Buyer
* Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement with indirect experience
* Knowledge of strategic sourcing and advanced procurement technique/tools
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively manage stakeholders expectations
* Excellent commercial skills with the ability to analyse and negotiate best value agreements
* Proficient in the use of MS Office applications
Must be UK born and UK national (due to ITAR restrictions)
Salary
Up to £55k
This position offers a 4-day working week (Mon-Thurs compressed hours) with 2 days working from home
