In your role as a Care Assistant for our night shift at HC-One, you’ll value kindness above all. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Every single person who works here understands that our residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. By joining HC-One, you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.
Right now, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed Care Assistant to join the team at our care home. Whether we're providing long or short-term, convalescence, respite, or palliative care, our focus is on providing the highest quality service at all times. Do you fit this role?
Please be aware this is for night shift only.
As a Care Assistant, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents. This includes assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing, and helping with meals.
You will deliver a level of care that truly comes from the heart, ensuring our residents never lose their dignity or sense of individuality. Your involvement in general activities within the care home will help achieve this. Whether helping someone with limited mobility to learn to use an aid, offering emotional support to a confused or distressed resident, or providing end-of-life care, your focus will always be on their well-being.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. It is important that you can recognize signs of possible abuse, harm, or neglect in its various forms, and know what to do if concerns arise. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and to undertake additional training as needed. You should also be able to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if necessary.
We’ll provide full training, making this a great opportunity to learn new skills. In return, you will enjoy a variety of benefits and services supporting your physical and psychological well-being. Throughout your career as a Care Assistant, we will invest in you and provide additional support, including:
* Hourly rate subject to experience and qualifications.
* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG check.
* Free uniform.
* A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more.
* Company pension scheme.
* 28 days of annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays.
* Group life assurance cover.
* Wagestream - financial wellbeing and flexible access to pay as you need it.
* Award-winning learning and development programs to help you achieve qualifications.
* GP online - 24/7 GP consultation via an interactive app, available to you and your children under 16.
* Opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues within an outstanding team.
* Colleague discounts - access to over 1600 high street discounts.
* Wellbeing support through a free, confidential Employee Assistance Programme, available 24/7, 365 days a year.
* Recognition schemes such as ‘Kindness in Care’ and Long Service Awards.
* Refer a friend scheme offering up to £1000 per referral, depending on the role.
We are passionate about ensuring our current and future colleagues can be their true selves. We value a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We prioritize inclusive working practices and aim for a quick turnaround from job offer to start date, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds into our HC-One family.
