Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Mining & Exploration Geology (Education and Scholarship)
This fixed‑term post is available from 1 September 2026 for a period of three years in the Faculty of Environment, Science & Economy at Camborne School of Mines. The role will support the delivery of the Geology & Mining programmes.
Salary will be £43,482 per annum pro‑rate on Grade F for the Lecturer level and £50,253 per annum pro‑rate on Grade G for the Senior Lecturer level, subject to knowledge, skills and experience.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop and produce teaching and learning material.
* Deliver modules, fieldwork and mine study tours at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
* Support student learning and engagement across the disciplines of mining and exploration geology.
* Participate in external networks to support recruitment, placements, outreach and consultancy opportunities.
* Provide academic leadership within programme areas, identifying funding sources and securing funds for scholarly activities.
Qualifications
* Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, typically demonstrated by a PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent.
* Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students.
* Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within the discipline.
* Demonstrate evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and an impact at the discipline programme level beyond personal teaching.
* Contribute to the design, development and delivery of a range of modules or programmes at various levels; apply innovative and appropriate teaching techniques.
