Role title: Sales Consultant Reporting to: Retail Supervisor We currently have exciting seasonal opportunities within our retail store at our Elgin site. To enable the successful candidate to deliver outstanding service, full training in product knowledge, the production process and the company heritage will be provided. We have opportunities working 12 hours a week, 2 days out of 7, from April to September 2026. The role includes working some weekends, so flexibility is required. Rate of pay for this role is £13.08 per hour, increasing to £13.45 from 1 May 2026. About the Role The customer is at the heart of what we do at Johnstons of Elgin and providing a first-class shopping experience and exceptional service to visitors is paramount. You will be: operating the till and carrying out transactions an ambassador of the company sharing knowledge of company processes involved in both woven and knitted cashmere products confident in styling & advising customers on fit and styles assisting with visual merchandising, stock management & replenishment Take groups and individuals on guided tours of our vertical mill to highlight the history, craftsmanship and processes involved. About you This is what we’re looking for in our ideal candidate: Have exemplary customer service skills and an understanding of luxury retail Have a keen interest in craftmanship and authentic Scottish textile manufacturing Preferably have previous experience within a fast-paced, customer facing environment Be a team player Have a pro-active approach and can-do attitude Have excellent communication skills Be able to stay calm under pressure Have high attention to detail and drive high standards on the shop floor, Have strong commercial awareness and keep up to date with the latest fashion trends Whilst previous experience is beneficial, we are more interested in finding personable individuals with diverse skillsets, capable of undertaking in-house training to learn the role. You may be skilled in languages, have a great sense of humour, a vivacious personality, fabulous customer service skills or the ability to tell an amazing story…the list goes on.
