New Directions Education, are recruiting for a pool of passionate, supportive and engaged Teaching Assistants, to work within specialist provisions across the Wakefield area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of learners who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
We want to hear from:
1. Knowledge of trauma-informed approached and therapeutic behaviour support.
2. Trained in Team-Teach or other behaviour intervention methods.
3. A calm, empathetic and patient approach.
4. Strong behaviour management skills.
You will be working with pupils across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, providing tailored support both in and out of the classroom. The role involves:
5. Supporting learners in small groups or 1:1 settings.
6. Assisting the class teacher in delivering a nurturing and structured learning environment.
7. Promoting emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and engagement with learning.
8. Building strong rapports with pupils, staff, and external professionals.
