You will oversee the financial aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and provide financial insights to project managers to support performance monitoring, project governance and decision making for the Group's projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the financial operations of multiple projects, ensuring they stay within budget and comply with financial regulations.
* Create and manage detailed project budgets, monitor expenses, and perform financial forecasting to predict and control costs effectively.
* Will require decision making and influencing across a wide group
* Prepare and present financial reports on project performance, including profitability analysis and resource utilization, to stakeholders and management.
* Conduct regular audits of project expenses, ensuring proper revenue and cost recognition in accordance with company policies.
* Work closely with project managers and other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes related to project continuation or modification.
* Provide training and mentorship to junior accounting staff, sharing knowledge and best practices in project accounting.
* Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
Skills / Qualifications / Experience
* Proficiency in accounting software - preferably Oracle - and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for managing and analyzing financial data.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
* Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Significant experience in project accounting or a related field, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience
Reporting Relationships / Interactions
* Reports to the Financial Controller - Corporate Centre
* Maintain constructive and supportive professional relationships with internal stakeholders, with particular focus on FP&A and project managers
