Main Duties:
This is a varied, hands-on Management Accountant role, which includes:
* Work closely with budget holders and operational managers to strengthen cost control, financial awareness, and overall value for money.
* Prepare and interpret management accounts, KPI reports, and variance analysis to inform commercial decisions.
* Review and analyse fixed and variable costs, including staffing, overheads, and project expenditure.
* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and business planning, providing insight into the financial impact of key decisions.
* Manage job costing, WIP, and project reporting to ensure transparency and effective cost control.
* Track capital expenditure and growth-related spend against approved budgets.
* Contribute to month-end processes, including journals, accruals, payroll, and maintaining balance sheet accuracy.
* Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting.
* Provide support for audits, external reporting, and compliance obligations.
* Supervise and support junior finance team members, while offering broader team cover when needed.

This role is hybrid, with three days per week in the company’s modern Shrewsbury office, giving you the chance to work closely with a collaborative, supportive finance team. What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
* ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification preferred; however, candidates qualified by experience (QBE) with strong management accounting expertise will also be considered
* Experience within care and/or public sector is desired but not essential
* Demonstrable experience in management accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
* Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret management accounts, KPIs, and cost data to inform decision-making
* A hands-on approach, with the confidence to operate in a growing SME environment, supporting operational teams and promoting financial awareness
