Location: Gloucester

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:45am – 4:45pm

Contract: Full Time, £29,000 per annum

Ready to Teach with Purpose? Join Prospect Training Services (PTS) and Be the Difference.

Are you ready to turn your passion for teaching into a powerful force for change?

At Prospect Training Services (PTS), we believe in the power of people — and we’re looking for an energetic, inspiring, and dedicated Tutor to join our mission to shape brighter futures for young learners who need it most. If you’re a dynamic, inspiring and joyful individual who has excellent experience working with post 16 young people, we want to hear from you!

This is more than a teaching job — it’s a chance to become a lifeline, mentor, motivator, and role model for students who face real challenges. We are ready to support and encourage the next generation with impact and purpose.

Why Choose PTS?

With over 25 years of experience and 65,000+ learners supported, we’ve built a reputation for excellence — locally, nationally, and internationally. Consistently rated Grade 2 by Ofsted, PTS isn’t just a training provider — we’re a launchpad for both our learners and our educators.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an engaging, inspirational, passionate and committed English, maths & Enrichment tutor to join our supportive Study Programmes team at Prospect Training Services teaching from entry level to level 2 Functional Skills. This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday with working hours of 37.5 hours a week.

As a tutor you are at the heart of our delivery, therefore you must possess the ability to motivate students to develop their skills and to reach their full potential. You must have the passion and empathy for working with young people aged 16 – 19 years of age with different abilities, including young people with additional needs. You will use innovative methods to deliver creative, fun and engaging sessions for English and maths as well as our Enrichment curriculum focusing on Skills for Work and Life.

This role includes full teaching responsibilities, including developing your own curriculum against standards, planning and preparing sessions and marking work. You will be part of regular team meetings, and we will provide you with professional development opportunities.

What You’ll Get

We know that to support others, you need to feel supported too. That’s why we offer:

✅ Generous PPA / Planning Time
✅ Ongoing CPD & Local Networking Opportunities
✅ A Supportive, Purpose-Driven Team Culture

✅ Company pension

✅ Free parking

✅ Health & wellbeing programme

And our recruitment process reflects those same values — starting with a relaxed Teams meet-and-greet, followed by a face-to-face visit with our staff and students, and concluding with a short, informal teaching task.

PTS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share and uphold this commitment in conjunction with the requirements of the Prevent Duty and the positive promotion of modern British values.

Dependent on the role applying to you may be required to process a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS/DS) check. PTS support the recruitment of ex- offenders and will not discriminate in any way.

PTS is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity. We are proud members of the Armed Forces Covenant (Silver membership).
