As our operations continue to expand, we are seeking a
dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Finance Assistant
to join our team at our Slough office and support the finance function.
Role Overview
The
Finance Assistant
will work closely with the Finance Manager, supporting day-to-day operations within the finance department. This role involves transaction processing, cashflow monitoring, budget management, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. It is ideal for someone highly organised, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Cashflow Management
* Monitor daily cashflow and working capital
* Assist with forecasting and liquidity planning
Invoicing & Accounts Payable/Receivable
* Process incoming and outgoing invoices
* Raise and distribute customer invoices
* Ensure accurate invoice data and timely payments
* Resolve invoice queries and maintain accurate records
Debt & Credit Control
* Follow up on outstanding debts and maintain debtor/creditor ledgers
* Support aged debt reviews and assist in recovery strategies
Financial Planning & Reporting
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
* Analyse financial data (e.g., last 3 years) to support annual planning
* Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial statements
* Maintain cost efficiency analysis reports
* Help improve financial systems and internal processes
Payroll & Expenses
* Maintain and update internal wages spreadsheets
* Review and verify payroll in collaboration with management
* Process and review employee expense claims
Finance System Oversight
* Manage and update financial data within
Odoo ERP
* Review and maintain finance-related modules in Odoo
* Support CRM entries related to finance and sales enquiries
Compliance & Administration
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
* Support audits, reconciliations, and financial reporting
* Handle internal and external finance-related queries via email
Ideal Candidate Profile
Essential:
* Minimum
2 years' experience
in finance, accounts, or bookkeeping
* Proficiency with cloud accounting software (e.g.,
Xero, QuickBooks, or Odoo ERP
)
* Strong skills in spreadsheets, reconciliations, and financial reporting
* Excellent attention to detail and organisation
* Proactive communicator with strong numerical and analytical ability
* Knowledge of finance regulations and commercial operations
Desirable:
* AAT Level 3
or higher (or working towards qualification)
* Experience in
FM, Construction, or Property Management
* Involvement in budgeting and financial analysis projects
* Working knowledge of
CIS
and industry-specific payroll systems
