Senior Paediatric Sleep/Respiratory Physiologist

An opportunity for a full time Paediatric Sleep/Respiratory Physiologist (Band 6) has become available. The post holder will join the Paediatric Respiratory Department at Evelina London Children's Hospital with cross site working at the Royal Brompton. You will be part of the busy and friendly Respiratory/Sleep Physiology team and Paediatric Respiratory Multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
This exciting role involves being part of the physiology service for sleep medicine in children's services. The service is responsible for a variety of clinical responsibilities, performing a wide range of respiratory investigations. The successful candidate will work clinically within the Children's Sleep and Ventilation Unit, as well as in clinics, theatres and on the ward. Duties involve performing Sleep studies and other physiological tests such as spirometry, FeNO measurements and oesophageal pH studies.
About us
The post holder will work closely with sleep and respiratory physiologists as well as daily engagement with the wider multidisciplinary team (including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, health care assistants and play specialists).
Job responsibilities
Please see attached job description. Main responsibilities include performing sleep and respiratory physiology tests, analysing test data and producing reports. The post holder will be expected to explain tests clearly to children in an age appropriate manner to enable them to perform physiological tests, working with the child, family and multidisciplinary team members to obtain accurate results and achieve best possible outcomes.
Person Specification
Knowledge/Qualifications
* BSc or equivalent in a scientific subject
* Registration with professional body
Experience
* Experience with children
* Knowledge of respiratory & sleep physiology
* Experience as a Clinical Respiratory or Sleep Physiologist
* Experience of working with children in healthcare environment
Skills
* Ability to work as an independent practitioner
* Ability to communicate well both orally & in writing
