Summary:
Provide patient care according to the philosophy and standards of the Department of Nursing.
Utilize appropriate clinical skills to integrate and implement the nursing process with the plan of care.
Function as a clinical resource for the patient, consistently providing direction and support to ensure a focus on team goals and patient-driven outcomes. Work within role expectations, delegate duties to other caregivers as required, and provide appropriate supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Nursing assessment is completed accurately and timely in accordance with practice standards.
2. Develop and implement a plan of care that reflects the needs and goals of the patient.
3. Provide, evaluate, and modify nursing care to achieve goals and objectives.
4. Complete patient care documentation per established standards.
5. Administer medications safely, following professional standards and policies.
6. Transcribe or acknowledge doctors' orders as needed, carrying them out as directed.
7. Coordinate nursing care activities with other care team members to facilitate patient goals.
8. Assess patient education needs and provide education related to disease process, medications, and discharge preparation to develop self-care skills.
9. Mentor and teach healthcare team members as needed.
10. Participate actively in team conferences and meetings to achieve goals.
11. Complete additional department, organization, or network activities as per objectives.

Qualifications and Experience
Education/Degree Required:
* Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
* Preferred: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
Experience Required:
Preferred.
Licensure Required:
* Current license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration as a Registered Nurse.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Preferred Skills:
* Specific learned activities from training (e.g., computer skills, CPR, ACLS).
* Effective verbal, electronic, and written communication skills in English.
* Computer proficiency, preferably Microsoft Office, with ability to learn new software.
* Flexibility to work evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and travel.
* Strong interpersonal skills, especially with diverse populations.
* Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and contribute to a team.
* Proactive in anticipating challenges and developing strategies.
* High level of service delivery, initiative, prioritization, and adaptability.
* Attention to detail.
