Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
We have an opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Specialist - Complex Eating and Drinking Disorders.
As a clinical leader in complex eating and drinking disorders, you will lead videofluoroscopy assessment, manage complex dysphagia, and oversee dysphagia training for staff. You will contribute to development of the SLT workforce and support clinical pathways in acute and community settings.
Main duties of the job
* Provide direct clinical care to patients across acute and community pathways.
* Collaborate with multi‑agency and inter‑disciplinary teams to develop SLT services.
* Administer Videofluoroscopy and related dysphagia assessments.
* Lead the in‑house dysphagia training programme for SLT staff.
* Support multidisciplinary teams and promote clinical supervision.
Essential qualifications
* Recognised qualification degree or equivalent in HCPC registered post‑graduate study, at Masters level or equivalent.
* Up‑to‑date CPD portfolio and evidence of continuing professional development.
* Clinical supervisory experience.
* Membership of an appropriate clinical network group.
Required experience
* Significant clinical experience in complex eating and drinking disorders and dysphagia.
* Experience of clinical leadership and delegation.
* Experience delivering clinical education and training.
* Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and clinical audit.
* Experience of practice or service change initiatives, project management and student training.
* Welsh / English therapy provision. (Welsh desirable.)
Knowledge and skills
* Excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
* Teamworking ability and awareness of multi‑professional roles.
* Clinical expertise in dysphagia and alternative/additional communication.
* Evidence of recent study in relevant clinical area.
* Delivering practice supervision and contributing to student training.

Remuneration
£50,129 to £57,365 a year per annum pro rata.
