Yard Person Reports to: Alex McIntosh We have an amazing opportunity for a Forklift Driver to join the team as a Yard Operative and assist in the day-to-day operation our very Material Handling busy yard. You An enthusiastic hands-on person, happy to work outside in all weathers. Great with customers and colleagues alike. Confident to give instruction to others when required. Able to multitask in a busy high-pressure environment. Great eye for detail and a desire to improve things on a daily basis. Basic IT skills. Forklift license holder preferred but not essential. Driving license held for a minimum of three years. Hours of Work: 40 hours per week8am to 5pm are our core working hours, the rest is flexible - we work around your productivity Fridays can be a shorter day for our workshop team to make up for the early starts We seek someone who is looking for long term stable employment. A team player who likes to feel valued on a daily basis. Ability to pass a DBS record check. Yard Operative responsibilities: Every day is different, and we will teach you the skills where you need to improve. Site maintenance and general upkeep. Vehicle unloading, loading, and parking. Vehicle condition and checks and safe storage. Keeping computer records of all vehicles held on site. Taking deliveries of goods and supplies? Cleaning and Prepping Trucks. Moving and storing correctly. Organising and prioritising workload. Working with a physically demanding environment. Keeping all yard work area clean and tidy. Working at high levels of customer service. Yard Operative skills: Work well in a fast-paced environment. Accredited Forklift Counterbalance License Not essential we can train you. Previous experience in a similar role. Reliable and motivated. Good literacy and numeracy skills. Good team working skills and ability to work unsupervised.
