Commercial Finance Business Partner

The Opportunity:

Reporting into the Finance Director, the Finance Business Partner role is a newly created and crucial position within our client's existing Commercial Finance team. You will
challenge
and
influence
decision making across the Sales & Commercial leadership teams, highlighting areas of risk & opportunity through financial insights, ensuring performance metrics and financial targets are met, and drive continued profitable growth across the business.

This position provides a rare opportunity to play a prominent role within a Private Equity backed and award-winning organisation, within a department that is at the beginning of an exciting transformation period.

, with experience within industry (ideally product & services), and comfortable with being
highly visible
& influential within a team of varied senior stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Business Partnering:

* Act as the primary finance partner to Sales and Commercial leadership. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, department heads & external partners.
* Communicate financial performance & insights effectively to drive informed decision-making.
* Hold sales teams to account on performance against targets, challenging constructively where required.
* Support sales leaders in understanding key drivers of revenue, margin, & profitability.
* Provide financial input into commercial strategy, deals, and pricing decisions

Performance Management & Insight:

* Lead on performance reporting, providing clear analysis of actuals vs budget/forecast/target.
* Deliver actionable insights on sales performance, margin trends, pipeline conversion, & customer profitability.
* Prepare and present performance packs for senior management & Board reviews.
* Provide data-led insight across sales & commercial teams to improve decision-making

Forecasting, Budgeting & Planning:

* Own the sales forecasting process, ensuring accuracy, transparency, & accountability.
* Support the Finance Director/CFO with the annual budgeting cycle & long-term strategic planning.
* Monitor performance against budget and forecast, identifying risks, opportunities, & required actions.
* Collaborate with Sales Operations to ensure pipeline data integrity & accurate forecasting.

Sales Commission Process:

* Own the end-to-end sales commission process, ensuring accuracy, transparency, & compliance with policy.
* Partner with HR & Sales Operations to manage commission schemes.
* Ensure timely & accurate calculation, reporting, & communication of commission outcomes.
* Provide analysis of incentive effectiveness & alignment with business objectives.

Finance Governance & Control:

* Establish & maintain a robust framework of financial governance & control. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards & company policies, namely revenue recognition.
* Implement best practices in financial management & reporting, owning pricing/margin guardrails, contract standards & risk management

What We're Looking For

* Professional Accounting qualification (
CIMA
,
ACCA
,
ACA
) 5+ years post-qualified.
* Previous experience in a Finance Business Partnering role, preferably within the
IT sector
with hardware/services & support contract revenue reporting.
* Strong financial analysis & modelling skills, and experience of PowerBI or equivalent MI/BI platforms.
* Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
* The confidence to challenge & influence senior stakeholders and ways of working, within finance & wider business.
* UK resident
with
unrestricted right to work in the UK;
